Russo-Rodriguez Campaign Proposes $100 Million for Women Entrepreneurs

Russo’s plan focuses on providing practical resources, including accounting and legal guidance, alongside training in AI and technology. Under the proposal, qualifying participants could receive grants of up to $25,000, provided they meet specific performance milestones. Russo emphasized that the initiative would rely on existing budget reallocations rather than new tax hikes, promising strict accountability for every dollar spent.

Beyond state funding, the campaign is calling on Florida’s corporate sector to contribute an additional $250 million to a privately managed fund. Russo specifically challenged Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and other prominent business leaders to support the effort, suggesting that those who have benefited from the state's economy should help foster the next generation of small-business owners. Rodriguez, a Palm Beach attorney, noted that the initiative seeks to remove regulatory barriers that currently hinder women from scaling their enterprises.

The proposed private trust would operate under an independent board to ensure funds remain dedicated to entrepreneurship rather than general government spending. Russo maintains that this partnership between the public and private sectors is essential to driving economic independence for families across Florida.
