James Murphy, chairman of the Commonwealth Prosperity Fund, described the findings as a clear rejection of the status quo. He argued that voters are increasingly disconnected from long-serving officials and are searching for candidates who prioritize the immediate financial struggles of local families. The survey of 1,200 likely voters, conducted by Cygnal between July 26 and July 28, carries a margin of error of ±2.83%. As the general election approaches, these numbers highlight a potential opening for Deaton to capitalize on a growing appetite for a new political direction in the traditionally blue state.
