TraceLink and Omnicell Merge Regulatory Compliance with Pharmacy Workflow

The integration allows staff to verify serialized products and document compliance as part of their standard receiving routine. Previously, managing these regulatory requirements often required separate software, creating bottlenecks that diverted resources from patient care. By folding these checks into Omnicell’s platform, the companies aim to automate routine verification and streamline the resolution of data discrepancies.

TraceLink’s solution operates on an "Integrate-Once" network that connects over 315,000 entities across the healthcare supply chain. According to TraceLink CEO Shabbir Dahod, the move is designed to stop the trade-off between strict regulatory adherence and operational speed. Sundar Tamma, Vice President of Product Management for Hospital Solutions at Omnicell, noted that the partnership provides their customers with a way to maintain audit-ready records without forcing pharmacists to abandon established digital workflows. The combined system also improves recall management by allowing faster identification of affected medications, ultimately aiming to reduce the manual labor currently required for audit-ready reporting.
