The project, valued at approximately $3.58 million, will be managed by Abundant Solar Power Inc., a subsidiary of the Toronto-based energy firm. Once construction concludes, the facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power roughly 205 homes annually. The development qualifies for an estimated $1.4 million in federal investment tax credits, providing a financial boost to the university’s Clean Energy Master Plan.
Selection followed a competitive solicitation by the New York Power Authority, which evaluated candidates on financial stability, technical expertise, and project delivery history. PowerBank, which has completed over 100 megawatts of energy infrastructure, plans to own and operate the array upon completion. The next phase for the development team involves securing building permits to move the project from planning to the construction site.
