Taiwan’s CLF Ships Record 5000-Ton Injection Molding Machine to US

The CLF-5000TPII is designed to manufacture large-scale plastic bulk bins for the North American retail and produce distribution sector. By utilizing a two-platen architecture instead of conventional toggle linkages, the machine achieves a 15% to 20% reduction in physical length, addressing spatial constraints often found in industrial facilities. To accommodate the massive molds required for such products, CLF implemented a specialized side-entry loading system.

Energy efficiency remains a central feature of the unit, which incorporates electric-servo charging and far-infrared heating components. According to CLF, these systems reduce power consumption by 20% to 50% compared to standard hydraulic alternatives, targeting the long-term operational costs of high-volume production. The machine also features reinforced platens capable of handling 42 kg shots, exceeding the client’s initial 30 kg requirement to provide headroom for future product upgrades.

Marketing Director Jenny Lin noted that the project underscores the maturity of the Taiwanese supply chain, emphasizing the company's focus on consultative engineering rather than simple heavy-tonnage output. The company intends to showcase its large-tonnage solutions at the upcoming Taipei Plas 2026 exhibition.
