The system hinges on the Exo-Belt, a central hub housing the battery, controller, and motion algorithms. Users can manually attach or remove modules in seconds using a MOLLE quick-release structure. The Ascentiz-H module focuses on hip propulsion for forward and upward movement, while the Ascentiz-K provides adaptive knee assistance, managing load during stair climbing and descents. Both units utilize Adaptive Motion Intelligence to recalibrate support in real time based on the wearer's environment.
Underpinning the hardware is BodyOS, an open-source software foundation designed to accommodate future modules and third-party development. According to Cody Kou, Vice President of Ascentiz, the decision to pivot toward modularity addresses the reality that movement demands fluctuate based on activity. By decoupling the mechanical joints from the core control unit, the company hopes to prevent the obsolescence that often plagues fixed-leg robotics.
The H-series is currently available, with Pro models starting at €1,599 and Ultra versions at €2,299. Pricing for the K-series ranges from €2,399 to €2,999, with full H+K combinations reaching up to €3,999. The company is showcasing the full lineup at IFA Berlin in Hall 12, Booth 109, through September 8.
