HiKOKI Bets on Air Spring Tech to Disrupt Cordless Nailer Market

The new lineup, centered on the Air Spring Drive System Plus™, eliminates the need for external compressors, hoses, or flammable gas cartridges. By storing and releasing compressed air within the tool, the system achieves a trigger response of 43 milliseconds—nearly twice as fast as typical cordless competitors. KOKI Group’s CTO Bernd Fleischmann noted that the integration of an enhanced lift mechanism allows for a firing rate of up to 5.0 nails per second when paired with the company’s new tabless MultiVolt batteries.

Designed to reduce physical strain, the 3.9 kg framing nailer utilizes magnesium housing to shed weight, positioning it significantly lighter than the 5 kg-plus tools often found on jobsites. Beyond weight reduction, the platform aims to lower operational overhead by removing the costs associated with fuel cells and reducing internal maintenance requirements, such as cleaning combustion residues. The initial European release in November 2026 will feature two framing nailers and a metal connector model, all sharing interchangeable magazine assemblies to support diverse fastening applications.
