Defense Startup Aitan Exits Stealth With $41 Million for Robotic Warfare

Aitan, a defense firm founded by former IDF Unit 8200 officers, has emerged from stealth to market its robotic combat technology to allied nations. The company secured $41 million in a funding round co-led by Deep33 and Dell Technologies Capital, bringing its total capital to $54 million for global expansion.

The startup defines its niche as Robotic Sovereignty-as-a-Service, focusing on edge-AI weapon systems that function as coordinated networks rather than individual units. These systems have been battle-tested since 2023, logging over 500,000 combat hours within Israeli security agencies. The technology aims to solve the logistical hurdles of modern conflict, where supply chains are frequently disrupted and robotic fleets require rapid, in-field software evolution.

Founders Udi Oster and Daniel Almog, who previously built the marketplace Tapingo, launched the venture following personal losses in the ongoing conflict. The company is named in honor of Oster’s brother, Eitan, who was killed in action in 2024. Aitan recently secured a contract to develop the command-and-control platform for the Israeli military’s next-generation attack drone fleet. Investors, including Gokul Rajaram and Benjamin Ling, are betting that this combat-proven experience will provide a distinct advantage as allied nations seek to build sovereign autonomous capabilities.
