Five community leaders were honored and $10,000 in scholarships awarded as The Sister Accord Foundation held its 13th annual celebration this weekend. The two-day event, hosted in Cincinnati, focused on fostering professional development and service initiatives designed to reshape how women support one another in the workplace and beyond.

The festivities opened with the 36th Leadership Development Tea Party at the Maketewah Country Club. Founder Sonia Jackson Myles recognized five honorees for their contributions to community and industry: musician Jonathan Butler, journalist Courtis Fuller, wealth advisor Patrick Lafley, Hamilton County Commissioner Alicia Reece, and Duke Energy executive Amy B. Spiller. The event also highlighted the Nella D. Jackson Memorial Scholarship, granting $5,000 each to Ohio State University students Taylor Evans and Isley Mitchell.

Beyond education, the foundation secured significant backing for its upcoming Accelerator Program. Jean Freeman, CEO of Zambezi, pledged $50,000 to support seven women-owned businesses, with additional $10,000 contributions from Marchoe Dill Northern and Myles. These funds will provide coaching and capital to the next cohort. The weekend concluded with performances by Jonathan Butler and Stokley, serving as a prelude to the official Sister Accord Day on August 31—a date established by the City of Cincinnati in 2013 to encourage nationwide acts of kindness.
