The series, produced by Hearst Media Production Group in partnership with Lees-McRae College, focuses on both the region’s biodiversity and the human effort behind its preservation. Viewers will follow Corwin as he tracks black bears, alligators, and sea turtles, while also diving into waterways to observe native fish populations. Beyond the wildlife, the show highlights ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts, positioning the state as a living classroom for environmental science.

Corwin is joined in the field by experts and students from Lees-McRae College, whose curriculum emphasizes hands-on wildlife biology and research. According to college president Lee King, the partnership serves to showcase how the institution prepares the next generation of environmental leaders through direct engagement with nature. For Corwin, the project marks another chapter in a three-decade career that has spanned over a dozen series, blending his background in biology and fisheries conservation with a long-standing commitment to public education.
