The transaction, finalized on September 1, 2026, brings BSW’s Boulder and Denver operations under the Sequoia Financial brand. Founded in 1992, BSW provides financial planning to a national client base, a portfolio that will now integrate with Sequoia’s specialized services, including tax, estate, and special needs planning, alongside its Sentinel family office division.
Tom Haught, chairman and CEO of Sequoia Financial, cited the cultural alignment and established client bonds as primary drivers for the acquisition. David Wolf, CEO of BSW, noted that the merger enables the combined entity to serve families across generations and offer enhanced career paths for staff in the Mountain West region. This deal follows Sequoia’s August purchase of All Star Financial, an advisory firm with $1.3 billion in assets, illustrating an aggressive strategy of combining organic growth with targeted acquisitions. Sequoia now supports approximately 11,000 households through 43 offices nationwide.
