The KGU Series, which utilizes Class I C0G (NP0) ceramic dielectrics, is engineered to maintain stability across a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. With a temperature coefficient of capacitance at 0±30ppm/°C, the components provide the repeatability required for critical RF tasks such as tuning, filtering, and DC blocking. The new 0201 size joins the existing 01005, 0402, 0603, and 0805 options, offering a voltage range spanning 6.3V to 250V and capacitance values from 0.1pF to 100pF.
Mohammed Abu-Naim, Global RF Product Marketing Manager at KYOCERA AVX, noted that the industry is pushing for aggressive downsizing in satellite and high-density networks. The 0201 capacitors are intended to mitigate the risks of circuit detuning and assembly defects like tombstoning. By incorporating tin/nickel-plated copper electrodes, the series achieves high electrical conductivity and solderability, ensuring compatibility with high-speed automated manufacturing lines.
