US and NABEP Secure Massive Venezuelan Oil Development Deal

A landmark agreement between the United States government and North American Blue Energy Partners aims to unlock 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil reserves. Backed by a $100 billion investment pledge, the project grants Washington a 35% stake and preferential access to a fifth of the venture's total production output.

President Donald Trump characterized the arrangement as the largest oil deal in history, signaling a pivot in regional energy policy. Under the terms, NABEP assumes operational control, targeting a rapid production increase to over one million barrels per day. The expansion will focus on Lake Maracaibo and the Orinoco Belt, utilizing infrastructure and equipment sourced primarily from American suppliers to bolster manufacturing jobs in the United States.

NABEP CEO Alejandro Betancourt, who previously scaled the firm’s output to 200,000 barrels per day, intends to leverage this new capital to revitalize Venezuela’s energy sector. Secretary of State Marco Rubio framed the move as a cornerstone of an "America First" foreign policy, projecting that the influx of private capital will drive economic reconstruction in Venezuela while providing cost savings for American consumers at the pump. The Venezuelan government expects the project to generate over $209 billion in tax revenue over the life of the agreement.
