The distributions, covering the abrdn Global Infrastructure Income Fund, the abrdn Healthcare Opportunities Fund, and the abrdn World Healthcare Fund, follow a established policy designed to supplement current income with realized capital gains. Per Section 19 of the Investment Company Act of 1940, the firm provided estimates regarding the sources of these payments, noting that figures are subject to final tax determination at the close of the fiscal year on September 30.
For the current payment, the ASGI fund distributed $0.2200 per share, with 73% attributed to long-term capital gains. The THQ fund paid $0.1800, while the THW fund issued $0.1167 per share. Management emphasized that these estimates are not for final tax reporting, as the actual composition of distributions depends on market performance and investment activity throughout the remainder of the fiscal period. Shareholders will receive definitive tax information via Form 1099-DIV after the calendar year concludes.
While the funds maintain consistent distribution policies, the firm cautioned that these payouts should not be equated with overall investment performance. Market prices for closed-end funds often fluctuate based on supply and demand, occasionally trading at premiums or discounts to net asset value. Investors are advised that the distribution policy itself does not guarantee performance, and the board retains the authority to amend or suspend these payments at any time.
