Bernardo Perez Joins Hyper as Vice President of Engineering

Perez arrives at the Richmond-based firm following a tenure as Vice President of Engineering at Columbus McKinnon Corporation. During his time there, he oversaw the integration of engineering processes with long-term business strategy, a skill set he is expected to replicate at Hyper. His career trajectory includes two decades at Schneider Electric, where he specialized in circuit protection and electrical distribution equipment, as well as early manufacturing systems work at Delphi Automotive Systems.

At Hyper, Perez will manage the alignment of engineering outputs with the company’s manufacturing and supply chain operations. CEO Vladimir Gulkarov noted that the move is designed to bridge the gap between complex customer requirements and scalable production. Perez, who holds an MBA from the University of Iowa and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University, emphasized that his priority is streamlining the transition from design to delivery to meet the rapidly shifting power needs of modern digital infrastructure.
