Bridget Walsh Named CEO of Emergency Nurses Association

After a months-long search involving nearly 130 candidates, the Emergency Nurses Association board has appointed Bridget Walsh as its new chief executive officer. A veteran of the organization since 2004, Walsh steps into the permanent role on September 8 following an 18-month tenure as interim executive director.

The appointment concludes a rigorous national search facilitated by the firm Spano Pratt. ENA President Dustin Bass noted that while the board reviewed a diverse applicant pool, Walsh’s 22-year history with the association and her performance during the recent interim period proved decisive. Her leadership during the last year and a half, according to the board, provided the stability necessary to maintain the organization's current momentum.

Walsh, a Crystal Lake resident, previously served as the association's chief operating officer. In her new capacity, she plans to balance the preservation of the organization's long-standing mission with a strategy focused on innovation and expanded partnerships. The Emergency Nurses Association currently represents 40,000 members worldwide, providing clinical standards and advocacy for emergency health care professionals.
