Austin Welcomes Texas' Tallest Skyscraper

The project represents a significant engineering feat for DPR Construction, which utilized its self-perform workforce to maintain tight control over the complex 2.7-million-square-foot build. Spanning a footprint of over three acres, the structure functions as a vertical district, housing 352 residential units, a 252-room hotel, and 703,000 square feet of Class AA office space. Developers Lincoln Property Company and Kairoi Residential designed the tower to bridge the gap between downtown density and the Waterloo Greenway’s 13-acre Confluence park.

To achieve this scale, crews poured 150,000 cubic yards of concrete—the equivalent of 46 Olympic-sized swimming pools—and installed 92 sculptural columns. Brett Bickford, project executive at DPR, attributed the accelerated timeline to the resilience of 150 trade partners who logged roughly 4.5 million worker hours. By managing critical construction scopes in-house, the team avoided the traditional bottlenecks associated with high-rise development, setting a new benchmark for large-scale urban projects in Texas.
