Under the terms of the five-year deal, Jennmar will supply a comprehensive suite of ground support equipment, including roof bolts, cable bolts, mesh, steel accessories, and pumpable resins. These products are engineered to stabilize the unique underground conditions of the Kemi Mine, which maintains an annual ore processing capacity of 2.7 million tons. The mine provides essential chrome for Outokumpu’s stainless steel production facility in Tornio.
To manage this partnership, the company has established Jennmar Finland. Mike Petkovich, President of Jennmar Europe, described the agreement as a significant opportunity to showcase the firm's technical capabilities in the region. Henri Simpanen, Head of the Kemi Mine, emphasized that the collaboration is central to maintaining the high safety standards required for the mine's personnel while mitigating production risks. Beyond supply, Jennmar teams will work directly with mine management to implement change-management processes aimed at optimizing overall operational efficiency.
