Jennmar Expands into Finland with Major Outokumpu Mining Contract

Under the new multi-year partnership, Jennmar will deliver a comprehensive suite of mission-critical equipment, including roof bolts, cable bolts, specialized mesh, and pumpable resins. These materials are engineered to meet the specific geological demands of the Kemi facility, which remains the largest underground mining operation in Finland. To ensure operational efficiency and streamlined logistics, the company has established Jennmar Finland.

Mike Petkovich, President of Jennmar Europe, cited the site’s scale as a primary driver for the collaboration, noting that the partnership serves as a showcase for the company’s technical capabilities. For Outokumpu, the deal is focused on maintaining stringent safety standards while mitigating production risks at the site. The Kemi Mine processes 2.7 million tons of ore annually, providing the essential chrome supply for the company’s ferrochrome and stainless steel production in Tornio. Jennmar’s technical teams will now integrate directly with Kemi’s management to optimize ongoing underground stability and support long-term change-management processes.
