Founder and CEO Brandon Landry describes the shift as a necessary pivot after 23 years in the business. The new location will occupy between 3,500 and 4,500 square feet, a sharp reduction from the brand's standard 7,000- to 8,000-square-foot venues. By streamlining kitchen operations and optimizing screen sightlines, the company aims to combat rising construction costs and labor challenges that have pressured the restaurant industry.
This smaller format requires a development investment of less than $2 million, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for prospective franchisees. The design allows for greater flexibility, enabling the brand to occupy end-cap and in-line spaces that were previously inaccessible. Despite the reduction in size, the company insists the experience remains authentic, prioritizing their hallmark scratch-made food and high-energy atmosphere. This project marks the ninth Walk-On's in Baton Rouge and the 20th in Louisiana, signaling a strategic effort to balance aggressive national expansion with a renewed focus on the brand's home market.
