Dr. Liang joins the practice following specialized fellowship training in medical oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His clinical background includes residency and chief residency roles at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, preceded by a medical degree from Stony Brook University and undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland.
Alex Spira, Co-Director of the Virginia Cancer Specialists Research Institute, noted that Liang’s focus on clinical research aligns with the practice’s mission to accelerate patient access to emerging treatments. The organization, which currently operates 10 locations across Northern Virginia, maintains partnerships with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute and the US Oncology Network to facilitate these studies. Beyond his research responsibilities, Dr. Liang will provide comprehensive cancer care, focusing on improving treatment outcomes and patient quality of life.
