Bennett brings over 15 years of experience to the role, having previously founded Marshwood Policy & Strategy. His tenure in Washington includes seven and a half years with the House Financial Services Committee, where he served as Senior Counsel on the Subcommittee on Capital Markets. During that time, he managed legislative programs and maintained close working relationships with the SEC and various financial regulators. His resume also includes a stint as Legislative Counsel to Congressman Tom Rice and a role at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
At Corgi, Bennett faces the task of establishing a federal affairs function focused on the SEC, Treasury, and Congress. Emily Yuan, the company’s co-founder and COO, noted that Bennett’s background is vital as the intersection of AI, insurance, and financial services reaches a critical regulatory inflection point. He will be responsible for translating the company’s technological goals into policy-ready messaging while managing high-level industry engagement.
