Equinix Doubles Down on Digital Inclusion with $50 Million Commitment

The new funding, announced in Redwood City, arrives just four years after the foundation's inception. It aims to accelerate a strategy centered on connectivity, digital literacy, and technical career development. To oversee this expansion, the company has appointed Aslıhan Güreşcier, currently VP of Growth and Emerging Markets for EMEA, as the new President of the Foundation. Her mandate includes scaling the organization's ecosystem-based approach, which leverages partnerships with companies like Cisco and HPE to create tangible community impact.

A core component of this mission is the Pathways to Tech program, which introduces students aged 14–18 to data center operations. To broaden the reach of this initiative, the Foundation has entered a strategic partnership with the International Youth Foundation. By combining IYF’s global workforce expertise with Equinix’s infrastructure, the program intends to build a replicable model for training the next generation of technical talent. These efforts are supported by a diverse network of partners, including Per Scholas and UNICEF’s Giga initiative, which focus on bridging the digital divide through localized, sustainable programs.
