Six students navigating chronic skin conditions have been named the 2026 recipients of the Aspire Higher scholarship, a program operated by Ortho Dermatologics. Each winner will receive up to $10,000 to offset the costs of their undergraduate or graduate education while balancing their ongoing medical treatment.

Since the program’s inception in 2013, Bausch Health has distributed over $1 million across 87 scholarships. The selection process weighs academic performance alongside personal essays detailing the students' experiences with healthcare providers and the impact of their diagnoses on their educational paths. Aimee Lenar, President of US Pharma at Bausch Health, noted that these narratives offer a unique perspective on the intersection of academic ambition and patient care.

The undergraduate cohort includes Riddhi Patel of Loyola University Chicago, Maria Pervez of the University of Southern California, and Purdue University’s Connor Proefrock. The graduate awards were granted to Joshua Lewis at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, Patrick Molluso at Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School, and Harvard University’s Demilade Oloyede. For recipients like Lewis, the award serves as both financial support and a validation of their commitment to medical training.
