The integration aims to bridge a critical gap in maritime navigation. While Hexagon currently specializes in GNSS and anti-jamming services to establish a vessel’s global coordinates, Guidance Marine provides the local situational awareness necessary for ships to operate within meters of offshore wind turbines, platforms, and port infrastructure. By merging these portfolios, Hexagon gains a deeper foothold in the offshore energy and port automation sectors.
Guidance Marine, which generated €22 million in revenue during the 2025 fiscal year, will be folded into Hexagon’s NovAtel Positioning Division. According to Gordon Dale, President of Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions Business Area, the acquisition leverages the firm's established relationships with Dynamic Positioning system suppliers. This move positions the company to capitalize on the increasing demand for high-precision, autonomous vessel operations across more than 40 countries where Guidance Marine already maintains an active installed base.
