Settlement quality serves as a primary metric for institutional crypto participants, as the chosen venue defines the risk profile of the entire trade cycle. By leveraging BitGo Bank & Trust’s infrastructure, Caladan aims to provide the same operational rigor found in traditional financial markets. For existing BitGo account holders, the integration removes onboarding friction, allowing trades to clear without additional setup or custody adjustments.
John Gu, CEO of Caladan, noted that institutional trust hinges on the integrity of the execution chain, emphasizing that the new channel provides clients with the regulatory assurance required for large-scale operations. Abel Seow, Managing Director at BitGo, added that the expansion specifically targets the needs of Asian market participants, focusing on security and standardized controls. Caladan currently facilitates over $170 billion in annual volume, and this collaboration marks a shift toward deeper infrastructure integration within the digital asset economy.
