Hernandez, an attorney at BD&J, currently serves as president of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. Her tenure marks a historic milestone as she is the first Latina to lead the organization in its 77-year history, as well as the first Mexican-American to head the nation’s largest plaintiff trial lawyer association. Previously, she served as president of the Mexican American Bar Association of Los Angeles County.
Reflecting on the recognition, Hernandez emphasized her commitment to the legacy of those who preceded her. Her career includes a wide array of industry accolades, such as the Mexican American Bar Foundation’s Professional Achievement Award and recognition by the Daily Journal as one of the state's top women lawyers. The Latina Lawyers Bar Association, which has supported legal professionals for over two decades, selects recipients based on their dedication to advocacy and their influence in opening doors for underrepresented groups within the justice system.
