Functional Fitness Brand PVOLVE Sets Coral Gables Opening

After a hip injury sidelined her running routine, former venture capitalist and lifelong athlete Lucy Hodson discovered a recovery path that turned into a business venture. She is now bringing the PVOLVE functional fitness franchise to Coral Gables, with a new studio slated to open at 3011 Ponce de Leon before the new year.

Hodson joins the brand with a background in sports technology investment and a personal history of competition, ranging from collegiate club tennis to gymnastics. Her transition from investor to franchise owner follows a successful rehabilitation period using the PVOLVE method, which relies on resistance-based equipment to prioritize mobility and joint health over high-impact intensity. She views the Coral Gables market as a strategic fit, citing the community's demand for premium, health-conscious wellness experiences.

Julie Cartwright, president of PVOLVE, noted that Hodson’s dual perspective as both a business professional and a regular practitioner makes her an ideal partner for the brand's South Florida expansion. The upcoming studio is part of a broader growth trajectory for the company, which now counts 40 active locations across North America. The brand, founded by Rachel Katzman in 2017, gained significant visibility following a partnership with Jennifer Aniston in 2023. Local operations at the new site will focus on providing a hybrid environment that emphasizes long-term physical sustainability for its members.
