OHUB and CompTIA Target One Million Students for AI Workforce Training

One million Americans are set to gain artificial intelligence literacy by 2030 through a new partnership between Opportunity Hub and CompTIA. By blending technical certification with venture-building curriculum, the initiative aims to transform AI tool access into measurable economic mobility for workers across the United States.

OHUB and CompTIA Target One Million Students for AI Workforce Training

The collaboration, known as OHUBNext, addresses a widening gap between AI adoption and workforce preparedness. While federal agencies like the National Science Foundation and the Labor Department have begun funneling millions into AI-ready infrastructure, the program focuses on the practical application of these technologies. The 12-course curriculum covers high-demand sectors such as cloud infrastructure, data analytics, and project management, allowing participants to earn dual certifications that validate their expertise to potential employers.

Dr. Rodney Sampson, CEO of OHUB, emphasized that access alone is insufficient for economic progress. The program is designed to move beyond theoretical knowledge, providing an infrastructure that cities, colleges, and unions can deploy to reach underserved communities. By integrating CompTIA’s industry-vetted credentials with OHUB’s venture-building and investment literacy programs, the partnership creates a direct pipeline for individuals to not only use AI tools but to build companies and secure high-growth roles.

To reach its ambitious goal, the initiative will operate through four primary channels: individual learning pathways, institutional licensing for educational systems, employer-sponsored cohorts, and community-based outreach. This multi-layered approach ensures that training reaches people within the institutions where they already work and learn. The organizations plan to detail their implementation strategy during a national webinar scheduled for September 16, 2026.
