The company signaled this shift at a recent private dealer meeting in Franklin, Tennessee, where leadership unveiled concepts designed to move the brand beyond its current four-vehicle lineup. By 2027, the portfolio will expand to six models, including a battery-electric Eclipse Sportback arriving this fall and a specialized, off-road-focused Outlander variant slated for early 2027. These additions are part of a broader push to modernize retail operations and grow the network of roughly 300 U.S. dealer partners.
Mark Chaffin, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America, framed the initiative as the most comprehensive growth plan in the company's regional history. While the global return of the iconic Pajero nameplate has been confirmed by the Japanese parent company, its potential arrival in American showrooms remains undecided. For now, the focus remains on leveraging the Momentum 2030 pillars—electrification, product renewal, and retail modernization—to secure a firmer foothold in the U.S. automotive market.
