SCX.ai Partners with DDN to Scale Australian Sovereign AI Cloud

With $6.5 million in annual recurring revenue and a fresh $40 million IPO, Sydney-based SCX.ai is scaling its domestic AI infrastructure through a new strategic alliance with global data intelligence leader DDN to bypass the performance bottlenecks currently stalling enterprise-grade inferencing.

The partnership integrates SCX’s ASIC-accelerated infrastructure with DDN’s Infinia platform, targeting a significant reduction in cost per token while keeping all data and workloads within Australian borders. By deploying this architecture at the Equinix SY5 data center, the companies aim to resolve the I/O stalls that typically plague high-concurrency environments. According to technical testing, the combined setup achieves sub-millisecond latency and improves KV cache loading speeds by up to 27 times compared to traditional systems.

SCX founder David Keane stated that the collaboration allows the firm to handle massive, data-intensive workloads while maintaining strict regulatory compliance. The underlying hardware, which utilizes SambaNova processors, is designed to outperform standard GPU-based setups by up to 5.6 times in performance-per-watt efficiency, effectively reducing the cooling and power requirements that often limit data center expansion. As SCX.ai prepares for the launch of its second node by the end of 2026, this infrastructure will also underpin Project MAGPiE, a sovereign large language model tailored specifically for the Australian market.
