MillworkSuite Debuts AI Platform to Automate Millwork Drafting

Millwork shops often lose potential projects to the drafting queue, where a shortage of skilled labor creates a persistent bottleneck. MillworkSuite is addressing this by launching an AI-powered platform that converts architectural PDFs into priced estimates and CAD-ready layouts, effectively cutting manual drafting time by half.

MillworkSuite Debuts AI Platform to Automate Millwork Drafting

For manufacturers, the drafting process is notoriously repetitive. Drafters spend hours manually placing cabinets, adjusting parameters, and nudging units to close gaps—tasks that rarely require professional judgment. By automating these inputs, the new platform allows cabinets to move from architectural drawings directly into software like HOMAG iX, Microvellum, or CabinetVision. Once the AI imports the drawings, it computes dimensions and scales, mapping millwork types to the shop’s existing product library. If a cabinet width is adjusted during the estimating phase, that change carries through to the final CAD file, eliminating the need for manual re-alignment.

Founder Rob Hull notes that the platform was born out of his own shop’s struggles with hiring constraints and project backlogs. By shifting the focus from manual data entry to higher-level tasks like material breakouts and custom detailing, the tool aims to double the productivity of existing staff. The company will demonstrate this workflow at the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta from August 25 to 28, offering live sessions on how to integrate the software with current manufacturing catalogs. The platform is available now in tiered subscription models, ranging from basic takeoff tools to enterprise-level configurations designed for high-volume shops.
