AbbVie Unveils Lung Cancer Pipeline Data at 2026 World Conference

AbbVie is presenting a slate of clinical and translational data at the 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer in Seoul, showcasing progress across its portfolio of next-generation immunotherapies and antibody-drug conjugates designed to address complex tumor biology in non-small cell and small cell lung cancer patients.

AbbVie Unveils Lung Cancer Pipeline Data at 2026 World Conference

The company’s presentation features Phase 1b results for ABBV-1480, a PD-1/VEGF bispecific antibody developed in partnership with RemeGen. In frontline advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the therapy demonstrated an objective response rate of 90.0% in squamous patients and 75.9% in non-squamous cases when combined with platinum-based chemotherapy. Researchers noted that the safety profile remains manageable, supporting the transition into Phase 3 development.

Beyond immunotherapies, AbbVie is detailing advancements in targeted treatments. The c-Met-directed antibody-drug conjugate telisotuzumab adizutecan is being evaluated in platinum-free combinations for advanced NSCLC, while the SEZ6-targeted agent ABBV-706 shows promise in small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Data for ABBV-706 indicates an 82% response rate in relapsed or refractory patients, with ongoing studies exploring its efficacy as both monotherapy and in combination with atezolizumab. According to Daejin Abidoye, head of oncology at AbbVie, the strategy focuses on building complementary pipelines that address diverse tumor biology to create more tailored treatment options for patients.
