The POUCH³ system mimics the structural silhouette of a traditional box while utilizing flexible materials to improve supply-chain efficiency. By offering six distinct printable panels, the design provides brands with expanded real estate for sustainability messaging, recipes, and seasonal marketing. SunDance leverages digital printing technology to support shorter production runs, enabling companies to execute limited-time offers or regional promotions without the inventory burdens typically associated with conventional manufacturing.
From an operational standpoint, the format is engineered to minimize headspace and increase shipping density. According to company data, the single-film construction uses 30% to 40% less material than standard stand-up pouches and remains compatible with recyclable film structures. Kandi Johansmeyer, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, noted that the technology allows manufacturers to modernize the shelf experience without sacrificing the space-efficient shape that retailers and consumers rely on. The design earned three honors from the Flexible Packaging Association in 2026, including the Highest Achievement Award and two Gold Awards for excellence and expanding the utility of flexible materials.
