The transaction, valued at approximately SEK 2.7 billion on a cash and debt-free basis, integrates a business that generated BRL 800 million in net sales for the twelve months ending June 30, 2026. Ulrika Kolsrud, President and CEO of Essity, noted that the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy to scale its most value-creating categories. Brazil currently stands as the fourth-largest feminine care market globally, providing a significant growth vector for the Swedish firm.
Essity already maintains a footprint in the region through its TENA incontinence brand and a production facility in Jarinu. This latest expansion follows the company’s February 2026 acquisition of North American assets from Edgewell Personal Care. Completion of the Brazilian deal remains contingent on regulatory approval and the finalization of broader transactions between Kimberly-Clark and Kenvue, with a projected closing date in the second quarter of 2027.
