In his new capacity, Stein will manage U.S. distributor partnerships and national sales operations across both on-premise and off-premise channels. He joins the company as it seeks to scale its market footprint, working directly with executive leadership to elevate brand visibility. Melissa Phillips Stroud, Vice President of the winery, noted that Stein’s background in building distributor networks and leading sales teams aligns with the company’s current growth trajectory.
Stein described the move as an opportunity to steward the legacy of a winery that has defined the Lodi region since its first commercial release in 1984. The winery, currently operated by the sixth generation of the Phillips family, manages over 900 acres of vineyards and produces labels such as Freakshow and Earthquake. Stein’s appointment marks a strategic effort to translate the family’s agricultural history into broader national distribution.
