Midea Expands Technical Training for Nigeria’s HVAC Sector

In a bid to professionalize Nigeria’s cooling industry, Midea RAC teamed up with the Nigerian Association of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Practitioners during NARAP Day 2026 in Abia State. The partnership centers on nationwide training initiatives designed to update local engineers on evolving HVAC technologies and standardized installation practices.

Midea Expands Technical Training for Nigeria’s HVAC Sector

The collaboration, active since May 2026, focuses on bridging the gap between rapid product innovation and field expertise. By leveraging NARAP’s extensive regional network, Midea aims to move beyond basic maintenance training toward a more structured approach to system efficiency and service quality. Emeka Paschal Okpe, Midea RAC’s Channel Manager, emphasized that the company’s heavy investment in research and development necessitates a departure from repetitive training cycles, opting instead for curriculum that reflects the latest market advancements.

Beyond the classroom, Midea is pushing for greater accountability through its Midea Club program. This digital platform allows installation engineers to track workflows, access technical documentation, and earn incentives for adhering to established quality standards. By formalizing these processes, the company seeks to improve the long-term reliability of air-conditioning systems across the country. With nearly twenty years of presence in the Nigerian market, Midea’s strategy signals a shift toward integrating professional development with its commercial expansion, targeting both technician career growth and improved consumer outcomes.
