Nordea Shuffles Leadership Team to Drive 2030 Growth Strategy

Nordea Bank is restructuring its leadership team to accelerate its 2030 strategic goals, appointing new heads for its Personal and Business Banking divisions while merging its risk and compliance functions. The changes, set to take effect between November 2026 and January 2027, involve several key internal promotions and one high-level departure.

Per Långsved, currently leading Nordea Life & Pension, will step into the role of Head of Personal Banking on 1 November 2026. He succeeds Sara Mella, who is transitioning into a non-executive career after seven years steering the division. CEO Frank Vang-Jensen credited Mella with advancing the bank’s digital capabilities during her tenure.

In the Business Banking sector, Randi Marjamaa joins the Group Leadership Team as Deputy Head of Business Banking by 1 January 2027. Marjamaa, a two-decade veteran of the bank, is tasked with leveraging Nordea's regional scale to support client growth ambitions.

Concurrently, the bank is consolidating its Group Risk and Group Compliance departments into a single unit to streamline oversight and data usage. Mark Kandborg will lead the merged division as CRO, while Nahale Ståhl Hallengren takes over as Chief Compliance Officer. These appointments remain subject to standard regulatory approval. Jamie Graham, the outgoing Chief Compliance Officer, will conclude his decade-long tenure on 31 December 2026, remaining as a senior adviser through March 2027.
