Hill's Pet Nutrition Joins HABRI to Quantify Human-Animal Bond

The Human Animal Bond Research Institute and Hill's Pet Nutrition have launched a strategic partnership to codify the health impacts of pet ownership. By combining industry-backed resources with scientific inquiry, the collaboration aims to provide clinical evidence that companion animals serve as a catalyst for improved human mental and physical well-being.

Hill's Pet Nutrition Joins HABRI to Quantify Human-Animal Bond

The initiative seeks to expand the existing body of evidence currently held by HABRI, which has already funded over 60 research projects exploring how animals influence human health. According to the organizations, the data will focus on a reciprocal health model: individuals who maintain strong bonds with their pets are statistically more likely to prioritize high-quality nutrition and consistent veterinary care for their animals.

Steven Feldman, President of HABRI, noted that the partnership is designed to help veterinarians and owners leverage these connections to foster better health outcomes at both ends of the leash. For Hill's Pet Nutrition, the move aligns with their internal research focus, which employs nearly 200 veterinarians and scientists to study the specific biological needs of cats and dogs. The findings from this joint effort are expected to influence both future nutritional product development and public advocacy regarding the role of pets in modern society.
