The Berlin launch, executed in partnership with VRex Entertainment and Sounds Fun Entertainment, features 11 specialized game rooms. Players use RFID technology to track progress, earn rewards, and unlock achievements as they cycle through over 800 distinct challenges designed to test coordination and problem-solving skills. Christian Ebster, co-founder of VRex Entertainment, noted that the concept fills a specific niche in the local social entertainment landscape, where demand for active, team-based competition remains high.
This location serves as the anchor for a broader expansion strategy across the DACH region. The company has already scheduled a 12-room facility in Fürth for late August, followed by a November opening in Wiesbaden and a site in Vienna set for spring 2027. Adam Schmidt, CEO and co-founder of Winnipeg-based Activate, indicated that the firm intends to capitalize on Germany's established gaming culture by blending elements of high-intensity workouts with immersive, party-style social gaming.
