AerCap Hits 100th Dreamliner Delivery Milestone with Aeroméxico

AerCap reached a dual milestone in its long-standing aviation partnership this week, delivering its 100th Boeing 787 from its direct order book. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9, marks the 25th Dreamliner to join the fleet of Mexico’s flagship carrier, Aeroméxico, further solidifying the lessor's dominance in the widebody market.

The delivery reinforces AerCap’s position as the world’s largest owner of the 787, with a portfolio of approximately 140 aircraft currently in service or on order. For Aeroméxico, the new addition is a cornerstone of its fleet modernization strategy, aimed at expanding long-haul capacity while maintaining operational efficiency. Peter Anderson, Chief Commercial Officer at AerCap, noted that the 787 remains a preferred choice for airlines due to its balance of performance and passenger comfort.

Boeing executives highlighted the significance of the delivery, noting that AerCap has received more Dreamliners than any other customer since the program launched. Having been the inaugural lessor to take delivery of the 787 in 2013, the Dublin-based firm continues to leverage the model to support its global network of 300 customers. For Aeroméxico, the expansion is part of a broader push to strengthen its standing as a world-class carrier, utilizing the aircraft to maintain its long-haul connectivity across its international routes in North America, Europe, and Asia.
