enCore Energy Reports Lower Uranium Extraction and Increased Net Loss

Dallas-based enCore Energy Corp. reported a net loss of $0.19 per share for the first half of 2026, widening from $0.16 during the same period last year. The company cited a significant decline in uranium extraction and fair value adjustments related to Verdera Energy Corp. shares as primary drivers for the shortfall.

enCore Energy Reports Lower Uranium Extraction and Increased Net Loss

The company extracted 131,274 pounds of uranium through June 30, a sharp drop from the 317,613 pounds produced in the first half of 2025. This production decline pushed extraction costs to $57.36 per pound, up from $42.92 in the previous year. Despite the lower output, enCore delivered 485,000 pounds of uranium into existing contracts at an average price of $70.10 per pound, benefiting from a stronger market rate compared to the $62.58 average seen in 2025.

Management is now focusing on a transition to new extraction sites to stabilize operations. The company anticipates beginning activity at the Upper Spring Creek wellfield and the Alta Mesa Wellfield 3 Extension later this year, pending final permits. To address mounting costs, the firm implemented a workforce reduction in July, though the financial impact of these layoffs is not expected to appear until the third quarter. As of mid-year, enCore reported total liquidity of $88.4 million, including $21.8 million in unrestricted cash.
