Skanska Secures $64M Vancouver Public Works Campus Contract

The City of Vancouver has tapped Skanska to construct a massive public works operations campus in Washington, a $64 million infrastructure project slated for completion by July 2028. The deal, valued at approximately SEK 600 million, will be integrated into the firm's third-quarter order bookings for 2026.

The project aims to centralize and modernize the city's essential maintenance and construction functions. Construction plans call for 13 new buildings comprising 21,700 square meters of enclosed space, supplemented by 3,400 square meters of covered parking. Beyond the structural build, the scope includes extensive site development, ranging from stormwater utility installation and retaining wall systems to final landscaping and facility lighting.

Preparatory site work commenced in December 2025, setting the stage for the full-scale development. Once finished, the campus will serve as the primary hub for the department’s fleet and public service operations, designed to bolster long-term efficiency for municipal infrastructure management.
