The organization released a comprehensive guide, "What to Expect During the Root KSK Rollover," detailing how resolver operators can manage the transition to the new KSK-2024 key. While the process aims to be seamless for users, those running DNSSEC-validating recursive resolvers must confirm their configurations to prevent potential service disruptions. The documentation, now available in seven languages, draws on lessons learned from the previous rollover in 2018 to assist vendors and network administrators.

Kim Davies, Vice President of IANA Services and President of PTI, emphasized that proactive preparation is essential for maintaining the resilience of the naming system. ICANN has bolstered its support efforts by launching a series of instructional videos, webinars, and technical resources to guide stakeholders through the necessary checks. Operators are urged to review these materials and perform system testing well ahead of the October deadline to ensure full compatibility with the updated trust anchor.
