Lactoferrin, often referred to as "Pink Gold" due to its high commercial value and distinct hue, remains difficult to produce. Traditional extraction from bovine milk is costly and yield-limited, while newer precision fermentation methods remain in early developmental stages. CEO Zhou Bin noted that by securing access to high-purity supply, the company expects to gain a significant competitive advantage as the Chinese market for the supplement is projected to surpass $100 million in annual sales by 2030.
