The brand is ditching its traditional balance for a sharper, lime-dominant flavor profile. Starting in mid-August, the change hits shelves across 7UP Regular, Zero Sugar, and both Cherry variants. This isn't just a recipe adjustment; the product will feature a vertical logo, bolder color schemes, and a new 'Lime Lemon' designation aimed at shelf-level differentiation.
Drew Panayiotou, Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer at Keurig Dr Pepper, described the move as a transition from a heritage product to a modern market disruptor. The company is backing the launch with a national campaign dubbed 'Flip the Sip,' which leans into social media storytelling and experiential retail to drive engagement.
Internal data underscores the urgency behind the shift. According to the company's 2026 Trend Report, 72% of Gen Alpha and Gen Z consumers prioritize citrus-forward profiles, while 64% actively seek out intense flavor experiences. By re-centering its identity on lime, 7UP is betting that a more aggressive flavor profile will secure loyalty among younger drinkers who have previously gravitated toward more experimental beverage options.
