This effort seeks to move beyond traditional checkpoint inhibition by tailoring immunotherapy strategies to specific molecular profiles prevalent in Asian populations.
For HanchorBio, the alliance serves as a transition from a clinical-stage developer to a precision-focused ecosystem. Professor Sung-Liang Yu, who chairs the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Medical Biotechnology at National Taiwan University, noted that the partnership provides a direct path to apply academic discoveries in proteogenomics to active drug programs. The joint initiative will prioritize the identification of predictive biomarkers to refine clinical trial designs and improve efficacy for next-generation immunotherapies.
