The event, hosted by the national nonprofit HealthConnect One, anchors the organization's 'Doula’s are for every body' campaign. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with birth professionals from Martha's Vineyard and beyond in an effort to strengthen local networks of care. Naughton will appear on behalf of Irth, a digital platform dedicated to linking Black and Brown families with high-quality, reviewed maternity services.
Dr. Twylla Dillion, President and CEO of HealthConnect One, emphasized that the initiative aims to ensure families receive support from peers who share their lived experiences. The organization continues to train community-based doulas and breastfeeding counselors across 20 states, with a focus on policy advocacy to improve equity in birth outcomes. The gathering in Oak Bluffs is free to the public, though organizers request that attendees register in advance via their online portal.
