EarthDefine Launches On-Demand 3D Building Data API

Building footprint data serves as a critical foundation for insurance underwriting, urban planning, and logistics. While enterprises previously relied on bulk licensing and quarterly data refreshes, this new API shifts the model to on-demand querying. By utilizing standard HTTP conventions, the platform delivers structure-level insights—including ground elevations and total building volume—with response times under 100 milliseconds.

CEO Vikalpa Jetly noted that the API provides the same high-fidelity data used in bulk licensing but removes traditional technical barriers for developers. The system maps over 274 million address points to specific structures, allowing for granular geocoding accuracy. EarthDefine has already begun integrating the tool into production workflows for property intelligence firms, with access tiers starting at $750 for 5,000 calls. The company intends to expand this on-demand delivery model to the remainder of its geospatial catalog throughout the year.
