Net interest income climbed to $670.2 million for the six-month period, representing a 22.1 percent increase over the previous year. This growth was largely fueled by effective balance sheet management and increased volume across asset pool portfolios. Non-interest income also saw a notable boost, rising 38.3 percent to $76 million, bolstered by distributions from the Farm Credit System Insurance Corporation and higher mineral income tied to oil price trends.
CEO Jeffrey Swanhorst attributed the performance to disciplined funding strategies and the firm's ongoing support of its member-owned Farm Credit Associations. While operating expenses rose 11.3 percent to $125.6 million—driven by higher staffing costs and technology investments—the bank’s overall liquidity remains substantial. With 149 days of coverage for maturing debt, the institution remains well ahead of regulatory requirements. Total loans reached $181.1 billion by mid-year, with 98.7 percent of the portfolio classified as acceptable, underscoring the financial resilience of the rural districts served by the cooperative.
